10. Searching throughout the city for any open restaurant, cafe, hole in wall, whatever, that’s open prior to Iftar.
9. Sending out and receiving regular updates on what places are open before Iftar.
8. Business meetings that start at 9pm because everyone’s too tired to meet while they’re fasting.

Foreign hair

A girl’s relationship with her hairdresser is a special thing. I have one of those with a fabulous girl in my hometown. But I live 6000 miles away from her talented fingers. So I go to a place here where the owner is from Lebanon and studied in Paris. And I only go once a year. My hair is sad.

Mentors and mentees

I love the story of Elijah. It’s so dramatic. He raises a widow’s son from the dead, he calls down fire from heaven that burns up a drenched sacrifice and showing The Lord as God and Baal as nothing more than a disturbing idea. Oh to have been there on that mountain to see the looks on the faces of the people! But even more, God supernaturally touches Elijah’s feet and he outran a chariot. Then he’s supernaturally fed twice by an angel.
